Private Cello Lessons at SVIM

Each students' needs and goals are different, and can change over time. A private teacher's role is to organize and guide paths to getting there for each individual.

New Beginner

  • Ages 8 and up

  • Exceptions as young as 5 if any of the following are met:

    • One parent or legal guardian with prior classical music training​

    • One older sibling enrolled at SVIM

    • 1+ Year prior training in piano

Played Before?

  • 1+ year of private cello lessons with another instructor

  • Any age

  • Prepared Playing:

    • A solo work best representing current ability

    • Any major scale, 2 octaves or more
